Have you heard of SAP’s Process Observer tool? If not, here are the details…

Process Observer is a component of SAP’s Business Suite foundation layer. Broadly speaking it can be used to monitor SAP Business Suite processes like OTC (Order to cash) and PTP (Procure to pay).

SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF) described

Michal Krawczyk is the new AIF Genie so I thought I would share some of his findings for this new integration tool from SAP…

  • it’s a tool for monitoring all types of integration scenarios – IDOCs, ABAP proxies, RFCs, BAPIs
  • you can do some real-time monitoring (self refreshing – nice for support/basis teams)

TM: Forwarding Error Handling (FEW) – What is it?

Do you know about TM’s FEH (forwarding error handling)? This tool is also referred to as “Error and Conflict Handler (CA-FS-ECH)”. You use Error and Conflict Handler (ECH) to control the response to business errors and conflicts as part of asynchronous processing.

If in TM the inbound processing fails, then all “records” are put in the Forward Error queue. There you can decide what to do. You could e.g. manually adjust the “record” and try to re-post it. Continue reading
